Balfour Benefits
Balfour offers a variety of medical, dental and vision benefits to its full-time employees. There is a 30 day waiting period for benefits.
Benefits that are paid 100% by the employer are: Employee Term Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Long Term Disability.
Additional Life insurance is available to all employees and their dependents to purchase via payroll deduction.
Medical
Balfour offers two options under the medical plan - sponsored by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas. Both plans are a PPO so you can visit any doctor within the network without having to obtain a referral.
Coverage Options and Highlights:
HCA - Company paid deductible. Most procedures covered at 80% after deductible.
PPO - Greater coverage means less out of pocket. Most procedures covered at 90% after deductible.
Dental
Balfour works with Delta Dental in providing dental coverage to their employees.
Coverage Options and Highlights:
DHMO - Works the same way as a healthcare HMO. You select a primary dentist from the Delta Dental network of dentists. Any specialist visits must be referred.
Dental Indemnity Plan - Freedom to select any dentist that takes Delta Dental insurance.
Vision
Balfour and VSP provide you with an affordable eye care plan. Vision Service Plan contracts with a wide variety of ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide a wide variety of eye doctors to choose from.
Coverage Options and Highlights:
Plan covers an exam and either prescription glasses or contact lenses (up to $120) every 12 months.
Flexible Spending Account
Balfour offers both a Health Care and Dependent Care Reimbursement Account. With this account you can set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for certain expenses not covered by your Medical, Dental or Vision Plans. Maximum contribution per pay period is $50.00. Maximum annual contribution is $2,600.00.
